Upcoming St. John Events

Want to add even more spice to your St. John vacation? Then come hang out with the locals at one of the island’s awesome events. Accommodations tend to fill up for many events, so be sure to book in advance.

September 3, 2017 

Sign up for this awesome annual event if you’re feeling really strong, or come on down and cheer on the competitors. Either way, you get to spend Labor Day at spectacular Maho Bay, and that’s pretty sweet. The Triathlon consists of a 1/2 mile swim, a 14-mile hilly bike ride, and a tough 4-mile run, followed by a beach picnic and cold beer.

Join the St. John community for the annual Save the Coconuts Block party benefitting the St. John Cancer Fund.

Just Play.

In its 9th year, the Just Play event is open to youth ages 5-17. Counselors/volunteers lead kids participating that day in exercises like the 50-yard dash, basketball, soccer, and a football toss through a tire. The event encourages health and fitness to kids growing up on St. John. To learn more about volunteering, click here.

November 2017

St. John’s annual Paddle Board race celebrates the beaches and waters of the Virgin Islands National Park. The race starts and ends at Maho Bay. There are three courses to choose from, making the race great for beginners and elite paddlers alike. The official date has not yet been announced.

December 3, 2017

Ten Bay 10K

This is the second year for the Ten Bay 10K. Is tentatively scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 3, 2017, starting at 7:15 am at the Virgin Islands National Park Visitors Center. The organizers are waiting to receive their official race permit.The St. John Ten Bay 10K road race is a challenging and scenic running race on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. It is the first 10K race on St. John and first running-only race to take place solely along North Shore Road. The course traverses the north shore of St. John for 6.2 miles/10 kilometers while passing ten of the world’s most beautiful bays and beaches.

Reggae in the Ruins

Let your hair down and enjoy this  “Rootsy” one love Reggae extravaganza amidst the historic Estate Susannaberg Ruins. It will be a mystical night of live Reggae bands, featured local artist, local food, Ital / vegan food, island-style bars, arts & craft vendors and good vibes. (Chairs and blankets allowed, no coolers). At 10:30 pm the venue will transform from a live band / festival-type atmosphere into a classic Reggae Dancehall Party event with live DJ’s. Be sure to represent in your “red, gold and green” colors to be in tune with the vibe.

Advance tickets cost $30.

*There will be taxi shuttles from the Cruz Bay ferry dock to the venue and back (10 min ride) starting at 4:20 pm.

Animal Care Center Annual Gala

Don’t miss this super fun annual gala at Butterfly Villa in Fish Bay supporting St. John’s precious dogs and cats in need of a “fur-ever” home. The ACC is a great cause and this is their biggest fundraiser of the year.

Friends of the National Park Gala

The 13th annual Friends Gala is back! As always, there will be live music, dancing, fabulous food, fine wines, and champagne. Tickets will be available by invitation and on the Friends website starting December 2017.

8 Tuff Miles

This annual foot race from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay is a must bucket list item! Registration is limited to 1500 participants. The course begins and ends at sea level but in between reaches an elevation of 999ft.

Gifft Hill School Annual Auction 

This fundraiser benefits St. John’s awesome pre-k through 12th-grade private school. There’s dinner, a live band, silent auction, and a live auction that’s sometimes raucous. Not to be missed, all your St. John friends will be there.

St. John Cancer Fund’s Light Up the Night

What is the St John Cancer Fund? Formed in July 2012, the Fund’s mission is to provide support, both financial and personal, for St Johnians battling cancer. St John Cancer Fund aims to supplement all of the existing support avenues available to St John residents. The fund does not restrict how the funds are utilized by the patient, but rather serves as a support in their journey. Light Up the Night is the Fund’s biggest fundraiser each year.

Love City County Music Festival
