Limetree Cottage looks out over Great Cruz Bay towards the West. Great Cruz Bay is where the Westin is located. The facilities at the Westin used to be open to the public (for a small fee) but the practice was stopped during COVID.
All beaches are public in the USVI. Private properties start at the tree line so you can still enjoy the Great Cruz Bay beach but have to access it without entering the Westin property.
This can be done by taking Great Cruz Bay Road (first turn to the left driving down the hill as you exit left from Roman Road. Drive down Great Cruz Bay Road and take the first right (Pearl Landing). Walk/drive down as far as you can and then walk across the beach towards the Westin. Do not use the beach chairs and Westin facilities.
Great Cruz Bay is a nice beach to go for a quick swim and cool down.
